Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t know how to swim. Can I still participate in ocean activities?

Yes! We are here to make you feel comfortable in the water. If you’re inexperienced we recommend joining a snorkel tour to get you confrontable in the water.

Which location will we go to?

Locations of activities can change based on wind, waves and tide. Our priority is to take you to the best spot possible for that day. Some flexibility around meeting location may be required, and we will always reach out with more information. All activities happen from the shore, no boat needed!

What is your cancellation policy?

Ocean conditions are subject to change and difficult to predict. We analyze wind and wave reports in order to provide the best experience possible. If conditions are uncooperative, we will do our very best to reschedule, recommend a different expedition, or provide a full refund due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Guests will receive a full refund or credit with 24-hours notice of cancellation. No-shows will be charged full price.

What do I need to bring?

For ocean activities you will need swimsuit, towel and warm clothing. For land-based activities you’ll need good walking/hiking shoes, layered clothing and water.

Do you offer private expeditions?

Yes! We can accommodate special requests, corporate “team-building” events, birthday parties and more. Call or email to inquire about private bookings.

What if I don’t see a date or time available for when I want to book?

Our availability can fluctuate around ocean conditions and weather. If you don’t see a time or activity available for when you’d like to book please call or email us and we’ll do our very best to accommodate you.

Do you take photos of the experience?

We always try to bring a camera on the expeditions and are more than happy to share photos with you afterwards. Feel free to bring your own camera too (GoPro style is recommended).

What is the water temperature? I’m worried I’ll get cold.

Water temperature fluctuates between 54-63 degrees. We provide all the necessary gear (most importantly thick wetsuits) designed to keep you comfortable and warm.

What equipment will be provided?

We provide everything you’ll need to participate in the activity outside of personal items (towel, swimsuit, etc.)

What kinds of wildlife can I expect to see?

Monterey Bay is teeming with incredible wildlife. Common sightings include: southern sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, anemones, crabs, sea stars, jellyfish, shore birds and more. If we’re really lucky whales and dolphins can come close to shore making an appearance too.

What about sharks?

Sharks are vital to keeping this ecosystem healthy and thriving. Seeing a shark would be an incredibly lucky experience! However, shark sightings are incredibly rare. As intelligent creatures, they stay far away from humans—no matter what time of the month!
